How articles here are researched, checked, corrected and funded.
Sourcing
Factual claims are based on primary sources where one exists — official documentation, published research, regulatory text or first-hand testing. Where we rely on a secondary source, we link to it rather than absorbing the claim silently.
Uncertainty
Articles distinguish between what is measured, what is estimated and what is contested. Numbers carry their basis. If a figure is an industry estimate rather than an audited one, the article says so.
Corrections
Errors of fact are corrected and the correction is noted, not hidden. Typos and clarifications that do not change meaning are fixed without a note. Report an error to hello@wideanglemag.com.
Advertising
This site is funded by display advertising. Advertisers have no involvement in what we choose to cover or what we conclude, and no advance sight of articles. Advertising is visually separated from editorial content and labelled.
Affiliate links
Where an article contains a link that earns a commission, that is disclosed within the article itself. Commission never determines a recommendation.
Use of AI tools
We use software tools, including AI systems, in research and drafting. Every article is reviewed by a person before publication, and that person is responsible for its accuracy. We do not publish unreviewed machine output.
